The Board of Directors of Proton Bank decided to apply for the bank's participation in the government program for the financial support of the Greek Economy. Consequently, the Board suggested to the management of the Bank of Piraeus and to Proton Bank shareholders who had agreed to transfer 26,98% of their shares to the Bank of Piraeus, to cancel the transaction.
The Bank will continue to consider strategic partnerships at a more favorable financial conjuncture.
