Piraeus Bank announces that following the decision of the Annual Ordinary General Shareholders' Meeting (dated 3.4.2008) and the resolution of the Board of Directors (dated 4.4.2008), on 20/8/2008 it purchased 9.941 own shares, through the ATHEX member Piraeus Securities S.A., with average cost price euro 17,46 per share and total purchase price euro 173.542,84.
