The Votanikos shopping mall is legitimate and will be completed on time

In response to the press releases regarding the temporary suspension of construction work of the Votanikos project, the management of BVIC announces the following:
The Council of State decided upon the temporary suspension of the construction work at Votanikos, following an appeal submitted by a small number of citizens. The litigants are our Company, the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, the Municipality of Athens and Panathinaikos FC and on the other side 130 citizens of Athens.
We remain extremely confident of the successful completion of the development and we expect the final decision of the Council of State to be issued very shortly. We do not expect any change to the scheduled completion date of the project, given the fact that its construction to date has advanced more rapidly than anticipated.
Our confidence stems from the legitimacy of the building permit as well as our pivotal role in the successful completion of the joint regeneration of Votanikos that includes the development of a new football stadium for Panathinaikos, in parallel with the development of a park on the existing stadium on Alexandras Avenue. Our company has already donated 56,000sqm out of our total 100,000sqm land plot in Votanikos, in order to make the development of the Panathinaikos stadium possible. Moreover, we have already demolished 97,000sqm of polluting industrial buildings, thus contributing to the general improvement of living standards in Votanikos.
