Euro 50 million contract for the modernisation of the Belgian Customs awarded to IBM - Intrasoft International.
Intrasoft International's participation amounts to euro 15 million.
Intrasoft International, a subsidiary of Intracom IT Services, has been selected to modernise the Belgian Customs IT systems and bring them in line with the EU's Multi-Annual Strategic Plan (MASP), as part of a cooperation led by IBM. Intrasoft International's participation in this euro 50 million framework contract with the Ministry of Finance of Belgium amounts to euro 15 million, while the project is expected to run for over seven years. The purpose of MASP is to create a simple paperless environment that connects all Member States in the areas of customs and indirect taxation.

The framework contract has already begun and includes the implementation of the New Community Transit System (NCTS) for the efficient management and control of the transit system, as well as the implementation of the Excise Movement Control System, which aims to create a paperless environment for the movement of excisable goods. The implementation of this system is based on the customisation of the X-Eyes product, which has been mutually developed by Intrasoft International and IBM. Also underway is the application development and application integration services, both of which come under the umbrella of the Paperless Customs and Excise System (PDLA). This 'green' solution will replace the accompanying paper documentation with electronic forms that can be sent from anywhere with the click of a mouse.
