Within the scope of Group ELASTRON's new corporate identity, based on which the parent Company of the group, ELASTRON S.A. was renamed from A. KALPINIS - N. SIMOS S.A., the procedure was also completed for the renaming of the subsidiary CORUS KALPINIS SIMOS STEEL SERVICE CENTER S.A., headquartered in Thessalonica, which is renamed to TATA ELASTRON S.A. STEEL SERVICE CENTER.
TATA ELASTRON S.A. (ex CORUS KALPINIS SIMOS S.A.) is a group subsidiary headquartered in Thessalonica, N. Greece, and is a joint venture (JV) between ELASTRON SA and worldwide acknowledged CORUS-TATA Group, and its core objective is to establish in its own property a sophisticated ultra modern steel service and processing center, that aims at becoming the focal service point of our clientele in the broader area. The investment, which is currently underway, amounts to euro 14.8 million.
As a reminder, TATA STEEL, a TATA Group member, is a global steel giant and the largest vertically integrated steel group of India. Headquartered in India, TATA was founded in 1907 and today is active in 7 business sectors, which beyond the steel and materials sector include also, construction, energy, chemicals, consumer products, services and last telecoms and information technology. Recently, TATA STEEL net worth was boosted substantially following the acquisition of the international steel group CORUS, which supplies the international market with steel and aluminum products. As a result of the above acquisition, the fifth largest steel group worldwide was created, employing over 246,000 people, with its turnover exceeding EUR 18 billion and holding presence in 96 countries.
This strategic joint venture with Group TATA STEEL is a milestone for Group ELASTRON's growth course, as it ensures the quality of the services offered by ELASTRON Group exemplifying its dynamics as it becomes the key partner of substantial international suppliers. With the common grounds set on the same key principles of quality, responsibility, knowhow and innovation, the group's subsidiary new name, TATA ELASTRON, signals the Group Elastron new growth course and the expansion of its activity in the broader area of SE Europe.
