INTRACOM S.A. HOLDINGS
Press Release
Intrasoft International successfully appraised for CMMI.
Intrasoft International, a subsidiary of Intracom IT Services, has been successfully appraised for Level 2 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI v1.2) for its software development activities. It is the first and only company in Greece and Luxemburg, where its headquarters are located, to have achieved this qualification and one of the few in Europe.
The CMMI is a significant distinction for Intrasoft International, as it certifies the accuracy of the processes followed by the company for the development of software. At the same time it verifies its commitment to the continuous improvement of quality of services it provides and validates its intraorganisational practises. The assessment for the CMMI certification is conducted by external appraisers and the results are verified and reported by the prestigious Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the Carnegie Mellon University, USA, which governs CMMI.
Mr. Athanassios Kotsis, CEO of Intrasoft International, stated: "Intrasoft International has joined a worldwide elite of companies that have achieved the CMMI certification. The application of the model will allow us to further improve the effectiveness of our processes, thus enhancing our efforts to provide to our customers services of the highest quality that meet their needs and expectations".
CMMI is a framework that describes the key elements of an effective software development process and an evolutionary improvement path from an ad hoc, immature process to a mature, disciplined process. CMMI covers best practices for planning, engineering, and managing software development and maintenance. These key practices improve the ability of organisations to meet goals on budgeting, scheduling, and product quality. CMMI establishes a baseline against which it is possible to judge, in a repeatable way, the maturity of an organisation's software process and compare it to the state of the practice of the industry.
