Acquisition of Follow-Up Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Open Treatment in Larissa
Euromedica S.A. hereby informs its shareholders and investing public that it has signed a preliminary agreement for the acquisition of 60% of the shares of ASCLEPIEIO THERAPEFTIRIO S.A., which has been running a Follow-Up Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Open Treatment in Larissa since March 2007 on premises covering 930 sq. m. Its turnover for 2008 amounted to 2 million euros. Plans are being made for the expansion of its facilities and departments by taking in neighbouring premises, thus expanding the centre by 700 sq. m. The remaining 40% is held by distinguished doctors. The price for the acquisition of 60% of the company amounts to euro2,100,000 and shall be paid off gradually up until August 2009.
Through this acquisition Euromedica S.A., which already holds a 50% interest in AROGI S.A. Closed and Open Treatment Rehabilitation Centre with a capacity of 128 beds in Larissa, is strengthening its position in the sector of Follow-Up Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres and particularly in the region of Thessaly, where the construction of AROGI S.A. Closed Treatment Rehabilitation Centre with a capacity of 40 beds is currently underway between the towns of Karditsa and Trikala, which will open in the summer of 2009.
In the meantime, construction works are also in progress for the completion of the Closed and Open Treatment Rehabilitation Centre of EUROMEDICA AROGI THESSALONIKIS S.A. in Thessaloniki with a capacity of 200 beds, which shall open in the first quarter of 2010.
Furthermore, a call for tenders will be issued in January for the construction of a Rehabilitation Centre with a capacity of 80 beds for the subsidiary company ΕUROMEDICA LYDIA KAVALAS S.A. in Kavala. EUROMEDICA AROGI DYTIKIS MAKEDONIAS S.A., which was recently established in Kozani (25% Euromedica 75% doctors), is in the process of finding a building plot and is at the same time preparing the final design for the creation of a Rehabilitation Centre with a capacity of 80 beds in Kozani.
In Patras, the designs have been completed and the subsidiary company ΕUROMEDICA AROGI AHAIAS S.A. is in the process of obtaining a license to open a closed and open treatment rehabilitation centre.
In Attica, the company that already holds an interest of over 5% in the FILOKTITIS S.A. Rehabilitation Centre has planned the establishment of a new closed and open treatment rehabilitation centre with a capacity of 200 beds in collaboration with doctors from Athens.
Lastly, Euromedica is looking into the joint establishment and operation of Rehabilitation Centres with doctors in the areas of Alexandroupoli, Ioannina and Heraklion, Crete.
