Frigoglass launches Ecocool range.
"Green is Cool"
Frigoglass, the world's leading manufacturer and solutions provider of commercial refrigeration equipment (Ice-Cold Merchandisers), announces today the launch of Ecocool, the first complete product range of environmentally-friendly coolers.
The Ecocool range is the result of the company's commitment to produce commercial refrigeration units (ICMs) designed to reduce the impact on the environment both in the terms of greenhouse emissions and energy consumption. This range of green ICM solutions offer cold drink availability with a minimum environmental impact though:
- The use of natural refrigerants that drastically reduce the impact on the environment. While conventional refrigerants have an average Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1,300 (over a period of 100 years), these new cutting edge alternatives have less than 3.
- Optimized and efficient design, best in class components, as well as 'intelligent' energy-management systems allow the Frigoglass Ecocool units to be significantly more economic to operate. Studies have shown that Ecocool coolers consume up to 50% less energy than equivalent units produced 10 years ago.
- Natural substances used in the insulation process make the Ecocool range completely HFC-free.
- The advanced assembly techniques and the use of fewer materials, contribute to increased recyclability, making the Ecocool range compatible with recycling process requirements.
The breadth of the Ecocool product range covers key channel needs thus offering a unique and integrated environmental proposition to beverage companies and retailers.

The global customer base spans across a number of geographies including Coca-Cola bottlers (Coca-Cola Hellenic, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Coca-Cola Amatil, Coca-Cola Sabco), international brewers (Heineken, Carlsberg, SAB Miller, ABInbev, Efes) and dairy companies (Nestle, Danone).
