PRESS RELEASE: Ministry of Bulgaria awards INTRASOFT International a 2.75 MEURO customs project
INTRASOFT International, a subsidiary of Intracom IT Services, in cooperation with VEREO and Intracom IT Services has undertaken the implementation of the EU Excise Movement Control System (EMCS) for the Ministry of Finance of Bulgaria. The total value of the project is euro 2.75 million, while INTRASOFT's participation amounts to 1.65 m. The project will be completed in 1 year.
EMCS is part of the vision of a truly integrated Customs union between all EU Member States which allows for an immediate flow of information between National Customs Offices, assisting thus Member States to limit fraud and facilitating them to increase income from excise products.
The implementation of the Bulgarian EMCS will be based on the X-EYES solution mutually developed by INTRASOFT International and IBM. After the implementation of EMCS the Bulgarian Customs will be able to:
- receive electronically declarations from Bulgarians Traders
- inform other EU countries on excise shipping movements from Bulgaria to any other EU Member State and
- be informed by other EU Customs Offices on excise movements towards Bulgaria.
In the field of Custom solutions, INTRACOM IT Services Group and especially INTRASOFT International has a leading European position. Since 1997 has carried out the implementation of the largest trans European custom systems by implementing solutions in most European countries.
