PRESS RELEASE:European Commission's Directorate-General for Research awards INTRASOFT International contracts worth euro 60 million

INTRASOFT International, via participating consortia, has been awarded three new 4-year Framework Contracts by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research (DG RTD) . The first contract is awarded to the consortium of INTRASOFT International, SWORD Luxembourg, and Cronos Belgium, and concerns time and means software development services. The second contract is awarded to the consortium of INTRASOFT International and SWORD, and concerns fixed price software development services. The third contract includes ICT support services, and has been awarded to the consortium of INTRASOFT International and IBM.
The cumulative share of INTRASOFT International in these three contracts is worth euro 60 million, while the total value is equivalent to euro 130 million. The present Call for Tenders was one of the most critical announced in the ICT market in 2008, in both importance and budget. More than 14 consortia, involving 34 top to medium companies, responded to the call for tenders
Through these new four-year contracts, INTRASOFT International will provide services to six of the Commission's Directorate-Generals: DG RTD, the JRC (Joint Research Centre), DG TREN (Energy and Transport, including EURATOM), DG INFSO (Information Society and Media), DG MARE (Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) and DG ENTR (Enterprise and Industry). The services to be provided involve the development, maintenance and support of the applications related to the management of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), the European Commission's ?50 billion programme to fund scientific research across the EU.

INTRASOFT International is honoured to be playing an instrumental role in helping the European Commission reach the objectives of FP7 and therefore the objectives of the Lisbon Strategy, to make Europe the most competitive knowledge-based economy in the world.
It is worth noting that these new Framework Contracts are awarded to INTRASOFT as a continuation of the Framework Contract for the management of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).
