Press Release
New export achievements of INTRACOM Defense Electronics
INTRACOM Defense Electronics signed two (2) new export contracts with RAYTHEON of total value of $3,5 million in this phase, which are extensions of contracts in progress.
The first contract refers to the manufacturing of electronic systems of the infrared seeker of the RAM (Rolling Airframe Missile) surface-to-air missile's guidance section and the deliveries will be completed in 2012. For the materialization of the project INTRACOM Defense Electronics will use high technology automatic test stations as well as special processes needed for the automatic assembly of the highly sophisticated electronic circuits, designed by the Company in 2008 when originally undertook the manufacturing of the respective electronic systems.
The second project concerns the manufacturing of electronic units of the naval close-in-support weapon system PHALANX. This contract will also be realized gradually until April 2012 and will cover worldwide requirements of the PHALANX systems. These electronic units are manufactured by INTRACOM Defense Electronics for more than five (5) years without a single failure.
The above mentioned contracts prove the high quality level and competitiveness of INTRACOM Defense Electronics, which has accumulated significant experience and capabilities in the manufacturing of high demand systems like the air defense and missile systems. In parallel successful co-operations, like the ones with RAYTHEON Company, have improved not only the competitiveness but also the potential of INTRACOM Defense Electronics, strengthening the prospects for additional future business activities.
