COMMENCEMENT OF TRADING OF NEW SHARES PURSUANT TO THE RIGHTS ISSUE
Alpha Bank A.E. (the "Bank") announces that on Monday 7.12.2009, the 123,292,996 new, common, voting, dematerialised shares of the Bank of par value Euro 4.70 each (hereinafter the "New Shares"), will commence trading on the Athens Exchange. The New Shares were issued following the rights issue resolved by the Bank's Board of Directors at its meeting of 19.10.2009 in favour of the Bank's existing common shareholders.
The Athens Exchange, on 3.12.2009, approved the listing for trading of the New Shares in the Large Capitalization Category of the Athens Exchange.
The New Shares will have been credited to the beneficiaries' accounts held with the Dematerialised Securities System (DSS) at the commencement of trading on Monday 7.12.2009.
