Thrace Plastics S.A., in response to the letter received on the 8/3/2010 by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission regarding an article published on 6/3/2010 in the financial newspaper “AXIA” which among other quotes the prospect of a deal or the participation of a foreign group in its capital, states the following:
First, the company rejects any rumor concerning the participation of a foreign group in its share capital. However, referring to the rumors regarding a deal with a multinational group of the Technical Fabrics sector, it confirms it entered into negotiations for the sale of its subsidiaries active in the Technical Fabrics sector and for its participation in the share capital of the acquirer. By such an agreement, the Group’s management was seeking to create value for its shareholders by capitalizing its growth up to date and by exploiting all future synergies to be created by such an agreement. The negotiations did not reach an agreement.
