Direct issuance of Euro 1 billion covered bond
On 23.7.2010, Alpha Bank issued a Euro 1 billion covered bond as part of its recently established Euro 8 billion direct issuance covered bond programme. The issued covered bond was listed in Luxemburg Stock Exchange and was rated A by Fitch and Baa3 by Moody's.
The covered bond may be pledged with the European Central Bank as collateral for liquidity purposes. Through the covered bond issuance, Alpha Bank enhances its liquidity position and also reinforces its potential in the current economic environment.
