GENIKI Bank selects INTRACOM IT SERVICES Group for the change of the Central Banking System's operating platform
INTRACOM IT SERVICES Group, the leading provider of integrated IT solutions and services in Greece, with more than 20 years of experience in the Financial sector, was selected once more by GENIKI Bank, member of the Societe Generale Group, for the change of the operating platform of its Central Banking System. The project, planned to be completed by the end of the year, is of great importance to INTRACOM IT SERVICES Group, demonstrating the Group's strong know-how in the implementation of large banking projects.
Following the recent upgrade of its Core Banking System to the new version of PROFITS? v. 7.0., and given the capability of the PROFITS? Core Banking System to work on a number of new architecture and open standards operating platforms, GENIKI Bank decided to replace the existing operating platform (IBM Mainframe/DB2/CICS) with a new, latest generation system (ΙΒΜ Power7/ AIX/ORACLE/TUXEDO), adopting modern clustering, partitioning and virtualization techniques.
The new platform will guarantee the availability of critical applications, such as the PROFITS? Core Banking System, while offering flexibility to the Bank to respond rapidly to new market needs or emerging opportunities, with reduced operational and maintenance costs.
In addition, INTRACOM IT Services Group will provide integration and evaluation services, training of the Bank's technical staff on the use of the new platform, as well as on-site support services.
Mr. Dimitris Papadakis - CIO, GENIKI Bank, stated: "Our goal is to constantly upgrade the services we offer to our clients, to optimize our technologies and improve our competitiveness. We are positive that this new operating platform, combined with the long-standing cooperation we have had with INTRACOM IT SERVICES, will greatly reinforce our continuous efforts towards business growth, cost efficiency and technological advancement."
Mr. Andreas Diamanteas - General Manager, Financial & Enterprise Solutions Division, INTRACOM IT SERVICES, said: "We are confident that the use of this modern and technologically advanced operating platform will strengthen the Bank even more, by enhancing its capability to adapt and respond faster to future technological trends and demands."
