S&B announces CEO succession.
S&B's Board of Directors, has selected today Mr. Kriton Anavlavis to succeed Mr. Efthimios Vidalis, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), after his term of office as CEO expires, as planned, in the second quarter of 2011. Mr. Anavlavis will assume the duties of CEO for an initial period of five years after conclusion of all legal and statutory procedures.
The Board's decision was based on nominations brought forward by its Nomination Committee, which conducted a thorough process to screen and propose a slate of well qualified leaders among the Company's executives and from the international business community.
Mr. Anavlavis is a graduate of INSEAD and Newcastle University and has been with the company since 1990. From 1995 until 2007, he led with distinction the Company's biggest business division. His contribution as General Manager of the Bentonite Business Division was decisive, in the development of a business based exclusively on Milos bentonite to a 200 million Euros international business, with mining and processing facilities in over 10 countries in Europe and N. America. Since 2008 Mr. Anavlavis is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the S&B Group of companies. As CFO he made a significant contribution to the company's successful response to the global recession, which also affected our Company.
