PRESS RELEASE - Finland decides on WiSPR for its Leopard2 Main Battle Tanks

 

Koropi, Sep. 07, 2015: WiSPR (Wideband Intercom & Secure Packet Radio) was selected to equip the Leopard2-A6 fleet of the Finnish Army as its intercommunications platform. WiSPR is designed, developed and produced by IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics), in its facilities in Greece.

The decision was made by the Finnish Defense Forces Logistics Command, following an international tender. The installation of WiSPR in the Finnish Main Battle Tanks will commence in 2015 and all system deliveries will be concluded within 12 months.

The system has been fielded in various types of military platforms, while Finland is the 5th European country to acquire WiSPR. It is characterized by its leading performance in vehicular noise suppression, its reliability and simplicity of use, and its growth potential in the area of the continuously evolving military IP communications.
