INTRALOT OFFICIAL OLYMPIC SPONSOR OF

SWIMMING CHAMPION APOSTOLOS CHRISTOU

 

 

INTRALOT announces it has become the official sponsor of the swimming champion, Apostolos Christou, supporting the preparation for the athlete's participation in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

Earlier this year, Apostolos Christou won the gold medal in the 100m backstroke, setting a world record in the European Junior Swimming Championship that took place during the summer in the Netherlands, and won the silver medal in the 50m backstroke in the Youth Olympics 2014 in China. In 2013 he also won gold at the World Championships in Dubai. The talented 18 year old swimmer has won a total of 26 medals for Greece and participated in 14 international competitions in countries such as the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and the Ukraine, among others.

 

"I would like to thank INTRALOT for coming forth in support of my efforts and become my sponsor for the next two years," said the champion. As part of the "Adopt an Athlete on the Road to Rio" program, INTRALOT received an award from the Greek Olympic Committee for its initiative to support the athlete. The prize was awarded to Mr. Antonios I. Kerastaris, INTRALOT Group Chief Financial Officer, at a special ceremony held on Monday at the headquarters of the Hellenic Olympic Committee in Athens, in the presence of government officials and representatives of sports organizations.
