Selection of Contractors for Skiathos Interconnection to the 150kV High Voltage System

 

The company “ADMIE (IPTO) HOLDING S.A.” (or “Company”), informs that its Αffiliate, IPTO S.A., announces the successful completion of the tender process for Skiathos Interconnection to the 150kV System through Evia (Mantoudi).

The project comprises the installation of submarine and underground cable lines in Evia and Skiathos and the construction of a Substation in Skiathos. In more specific,

  1. The bidders for the design, supply and installation of underground and submarine HV 150kV cables regarding the Transmission Line of the part “Mantoudi-Skiathos” were the following companies: Prysmian and Hellenic Cables SA. The successful bidder is Hellenic Cables SA for a total consideration of 42.8 million euros.  
  2. The bidders for the supply of equipment and the installation of the new Substation GIS 150/20 kV in Skiathos, were the following companies: ABB, MYTILINEOS-GE, TOMI-HYOSUNG and NARI-ELECTROMEC. The successful bidder is ABB for a total consideration of 9.5 million euros.

The construction works of the project will start in January 2020 and are expected to be completed within 20 months. Skiathos will be connected for the first time to the High Voltage 150kV System, the objective of which is to ensure the stability of power supply in Northern Sporades especially during the peak summer season.

Mr. Μanos Manousakis, Chairman and CEO of IPTO SA stated: “The tender process of Skiathos Interconnection attracted strong interest among the world's top construction companies entailing an important vote of confidence in the project of Operator. Another Greek island will be connected to the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System. The project is set to be completed by 2021, providing a critical solution for the electricity supply problems of North Sporades. IPTO SA continues the acceleration of its investment plan, which would enable us to secure the reliable power supply of Greek Islands on sustainable terms across the country.”
