TERNA S.A. to participate in four new energy infrastructure and RES projects with a total budget of € 483 million

TERNA S.A., a 100% subsidiary of GEK TERNA Group, secured its participation in four new significant energy infrastructure and Renewable Energy Sources projects with a total budget of approximately €483 million.

More specifically, TERNA was awarded the tender of “PPC Renewables S.A.” for the project "Planning, Design, Civil Engineering Works, Supply, Transportation, Installation and Operation of one PV Plant of Nominal Power of 14.99 MW at the Municipality of Eordea, Kozani and One Outdoor Substation". Both the photovoltaic station and the substation will be constructed in areas expropriated by PPC. The budget of the project amounts to € 15 million.

Moreover, TERNA is the preferred EPC candidate in the tender of the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator for the project "Design, supply, construction and commissioning of one Reception and Charging Station (Liquefied Natural Gas) at the Terminal Station on Revythousa island”. The total budget of the project amounts to € 5.2 million and is expected to be completed in 14 months from the signing of the contract. The project includes all the necessary facilities and equipment (piping, measurers, surveillance and fire safety systems, etc.) for loading NFA tankers in Revythousa. It is worth noting that this project is important for the further development of the gas market in Greece and for the Greek economy, as it is the first stage of implementation of the national plan for natural gas supply and distribution to consumers and areas where there is no existing network, such as islands, Western Greece, the Peloponnese and mountainous areas of the country.

In addition, TERNA is also the preferred bidder in PPC's tender for the lease of diesel generator sets with a net capacity of 23 MW for Atherinolakkos substation, to cover the peak summer loads of 2020. Based on the contract, the total amount of the project, including the option for September, is € 2.7 million.

Finally, it is reminded, that TERNA, as part of a Siemens – TERNA joint venture, has been recently awarded the contract for the “Engineering, Procurement and Installation of two Converter Stations and one Substation for the Direct Current Electrical Interconnection between Crete and Attica ”, by Ariadne Interconnection, a subsidiary of the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO). The budget of the project amounts to € 370 million. Of these, € 358.6 million is for the construction of the converter station and € 11.4 million for their maintenance. According to the contract, there will be a 36-month construction period.
