Luxembourg, February 8, 2016 Mr. Athanasios Kotsis, Executive Chairman of INTRASOFT International and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Greek Federation of Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) has been elected as a Board member of the Digital Advisory Council of DIGITALEUROPE, the organization that sets the pan-European vision for Digital Europe. 30 members in total -at very senior executive level- of the largest European and multinational technology companies, such as SAP, CISCO, MICROSOFT, IBM, Google, NOKIA, participate in the Digital Advisory Council.

DIGITALEUROPE represents the digital technology industry in Europe, with members from 60 global IT, telecom and consumer electronics companies and 40 European national trade associations. DIGITALEUROPE wants a European Union that nurtures and supports digital technology industries and prospers from the jobs it provides, the innovation and economic benefits it delivers and the societal challenges it addresses. Its mission is to foster a business, policy and regulatory environment in Europe that best realizes this vision. DIGITALEUROPE will achieve this by working side-by-side with the European Institutions, other European and global bodies and the member states of Europe, through its national trade associations.

The Digital Advisory Council (DAC), the operational arm of DIGITALEUROPE, consists of a fixed number of selected senior executives from technology companies, with an executive role to organize meetings with European bodies, institutions and decision-makers, in order to help shape an environment that fosters innovation in technology.

DAC's next scheduled meeting is on February 11 with Mr. Andrus Ansip, European Commission Vice-President for the Digital Single Market, as well as with Mr. Günther H. Oettinger, Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society and Ms. Věra Jourová, Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality. The objective of the meeting is to discuss how specific aspects of the European political environment could better facilitate growth and job creation among  DIGITALEUROPE member companies, while at the same time helping the broader European economy grow, create more jobs and improve both public services and citizens' lives.
