PRESS RELEASE:Extension of NATO - IDE Contract for AWACS Aircraft
Koropi-Athens, Greece Oct. 13, 2015: After an international competition IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics) extended the existing agreement with Boeing, within the frame of the upgrade program CNS/ATM (Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/ Air Traffic Management) of NATO Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) aircraft.
The new project of IDE concerns specialized subsystems of the AWACS aircraft and will be completed in May 2017.
The CNS/ATM upgrade program is a joint development effort of NATO and the US Air Force, and therefore generates prospects for expanding the cooperation for USA early warning aircraft as well.
