Contract signing for the construction of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (NRAC)

ELLAKTOR SA (hereinafter the “Company”) announces, in accordance with Regulations (EU) 596/2014 of the European Parliament & Council and of the Athens Stock Exchange, that its subsidiary AKTOR SA,  signed today the contract for the construction of the section NEAPOLI – AGIOS NIKOLAOS of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (NRAC).

The project, with a budget of EUR 169 million, is part of the Northern Road Axis of Crete that will connect Crete from Kissamos to Sitia, with a total length of about 300 km. This is the longest motorway currently under construction in Europe and the largest road project that has been included under the Recovery Fund and the Public Investments Program of 2021.

The construction of this new section, with a length of about 14.5 km completes the motorway, while at the same time is transforming it into a closed road axis with the improvement and widening of the existing section Neapoli – Ag. Nikolaos.  The contract was signed in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis and the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. George Karagiannis and was signed by the Director of the Special Service for Public Works, Mr. Dimitrios Anagnostopoulos and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the contracting company AKTOR SA, Mr. Christos Panagiotopoulos.
