The Athens Stock Exchange and FTSE Russell, with a focus on the continues improvement of the management and calculation processes of the indices, following consultation with members of the ATHEX Advisory Committee for the Management of Stock Market Indices, announce an update to the FTSE/ATHEX Index Series Ground Rules.
Specifically, the rules will be updated to incorporate a change in the metric used for the final ranking of companies during their semi-annual review of composition.
The final ranking will now be determined based on the "Average Total Market Capitalization" of the last month in the respective review period, replacing the previous metric of "Total Market Capitalization" on the last trading day used until now.
The change takes immediate effect and will be applicable during the upcoming semi-annual review of the FTSE/ATHEX Index Series during which the "Average Total Market Capitalization" of April 2024 will be used.
