Luxembourg, 28 March 2013 – INTRASOFT International, a leading European company in the area of Information and Communication Technology Services, has been selected by EUROSTAT for the implementation of a new software development project in the area of IT and standards for data and metadata exchange.

 More specifically, an INTRASOFT International consortium (with Agilis SA) has been selected as the first contractor in the SDMX cascading framework contract for Lot 1 & Lot 2 which have a maximum duration of four years. The volume of the contract is estimated at 5,000 person-days per year of duration, which equals 20,000 person-days over the maximum contract duration.  INTRASOFT International's participation is estimated at EUR 3.85 million (42% of the total budget).

 SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange) is an international ISO specification for statistical data and metadata exchange sponsored by BIS, ECB, EUROSTAT, IMF, OECD, UNSD and the World Bank. The adoption and implementation of the SDMX software is a critical step towards the improvement of the quality of the information transmitted and the reduction of costs for Competent National Administrations and EUROSTAT. The activities within this contract comprise services for implementation, support and testing for standardised data formats used for the transmission of data from Member States to EUROSTAT, as well as for the exchange of statistics with the ECB, OECD, IMF and other international organisations.
