OPAP S.A. makes its announcement known to the investment community, pursuant to Law 3556/2007, as well as the Capital Market Commission's decision No.3/347/12.7.2005, that the Board of Directors of the company, in its unanimous decision on March 2nd 2013, decided to conclude the bidding process related to the selection of the technology provider for the core system with the candidate contracting party INTRALOT S.A. INTEGRATED LOTTERY SYSTEMS AND SERVICES (INTRALOT). Following a thorough reexamination of technical and financial terms, as well as negotiations which have been conducted with INTRALOT, a remarkable improvement has been achieved to the result of the bidding process, concerning the time period of commitment of the company, which is set to three years, a period after which the company will have the right to renegotiate or terminate the contract.
The new contract of the technology provider, ensures a modern operating system for the company and at the same time provides assurance to the investment community as well as to the interested investors for the acquisition of the 33% shareholding from the Hellenic Republic Assets Development Fund, that the company will continue its operations in an uninterrupted and seamless manner, after July 30th, 2013. Within a reasonable timeframe, the form of the contract to be signed will be uploaded on the virtual data room which has been created for the interested investors.
The new contract will cover the supply of application software, hardware and services for implementation and support of the company's core system, which will ensure the full execution and distribution of the company's 11 games (sports betting and numerical games), as well as the provision of certain peripheral systems. The implementation works will commence immediately after the signing of the new contract.
Finally, since the new contract is of vital importance for the company and its shareholders, the Board of Directors, in its same meeting, decided to call immediately the General Assembly of the Shareholders of the company, and seek the Assembly's approval of the new contract before its signature – as this contract is provided by the bidding process and as to be modified according to the current requirements and developments.
