Luxembourg, December 10, 2012 - The SAP Environment, Health and Safety project that INTRASOFT International implemented at AGET Heracles General Cement Co. (Lafarge Group) has been selected as the Gold Winner of the SAP Quality Awards 2012 in the Medium Implementation category for the region of Greece and Cyprus, while it was included in the 6 finalists for the region of Europe, Middle East and Africa -from a pool of 250 entries. 
 AGET Heracles General Cement Co. is the first company that implemented such a project inGreece. Considering health & safety as core company values and a top priority from the production to the delivery of products to the final customer, AGET Heracles decided to extend the SAP functionality by using a SAP Environment, Health and Safety solution. The objectives of this project were: (a) to improve safety processes by incorporating pre-job risk assessment into standard operational activities, (b) to ensure contractor compliance with Lafarge safety rules and standards and (c) to safely handle hazardous materials. 
 After one year of successful operation, AGET Heracles has already recorded the following benefits: (1) Effectiveness in the conformity and the control of health and safety processes related to maintenance, (2) Facilitation in the evaluation, follow-up and control of partners and collaborators regarding health and safety, and (3) Safe management of chemical substances, standardisation in the development of safe directions of operation and automatic distribution to users.
