Following a Capital Market Commission's inquiry in relation to an article published in the financial press, «MARFIN INVESTMENT GROUP HOLDINGS SA» («the Company») hereby announces that it has become in the past the recipient of  exploratory contacts on a possible interest for the takeover of the Greek operations of «CYPRUS POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LTD». The Company has not so far received any concrete proposal and has not therefore officially expressed its interest nor discussed or taken any relevant decision.

 The Company follows the developments in the domestic financial sector and will make relevant Announcements, where applicable in accordance with the current legislation.
