The articles published in “IMERISSIA” and “TA NEA” newspapers (July 16th, 2012), references are made also to the following with regard to Piraeus Bank S.A.:

(IMERISSIA) “Eurobank – Piraeus shows interest in the “good” Agricultural Bank”

“Bids from Eurobank and Piraeus for ΑΤΕBank” and

(TA NEA) “The battle for ΑΤΕBank has been launched- Piraeus Bank closer to the specifications set by the Greek state” – The decisions on the privatization of battle for ΑΤΕBank has been launched are expected to be made immediately”.

 In view of the above articles, and in fulfillment of Piraeus Bank's obligation arising from par. 1, article 2 of the Decision nr. 5/204/2000 of the Capital Market Commission's Board of Directors, as in effect, Piraeus hereby confirms its interest in ATEBank. However, the Non-Disclosure Agreement it has signed, prevents the Bank from disclosing any relevant information or making any comment.

The Bank will keep the investment community informed as stipulated by law.
