In response to Capital Market Commission's document nr. 2828/09.07.2012, requesting Piraeus Bank to comment on an article which appeared in “Isotimia” newspaper – issue of 08.07.2012, and is quoted as follows:
“… At the same time, behind the scenes consultations were taking place between Mr. Tourkolias and Mr. Sallas, which have also resulted in the managing structure of the new bank. It appears that Michalis Sallas will be chairman of the group, and Alexandros Tourkolias will be chief executive officer….”
Piraeus Bank hereby announces that the aforementioned in the article quoted above  does not reflect reality as far as Piraeus Bank is concerned.
