The contractual value is 3 million USD, and the services rendered by INTRASOFT International amount to 66% of this value, while the rest will be undertaken by a local IT partner. This project, which will run for 4 years (14-month implementation and 4-year maintenance), is the third similar system implemented INTRASOFT International globally and the first in the African continent.
The Core Social Security & Pension Administration System (SSPAS) is an Integrated Information system, which supports and automates the corresponding core processes within a Social Security Organization, thus improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Social Security services and supporting the strategic plan of the Organization. The National Social Security Fund of Kenya (NSSF) was established in 1965 by an Act of Parliament to administer a provident fund scheme for all workers inKenya and is now an autonomous decentralized governmental organization, operating under a Board of Trustees, represented by the government, workers and employers. The Fund's membership has grown steadily over the years and by the end of 2007, it had a cumulative registered membership of about 3 million. In recent years, the Fund has embarked on a reform program to convert itself from a National Provident Fund Scheme to a Social Insurance Pension Scheme. Today, it continues to work on enhancing its organizational performance and improving the quality of services it provides to its members. The reorganization and restructuring program of the Fund is based on its vision to transform itself to a modern decentralized organisation, offering quality services to its stakeholders. The system under implementation will greatly assist the Fund to realize its goals, supporting the Fund's enterprise activities.
Mr. Athanassios Kotsis, CEO of INTRASOFT International commented: “We are very proud of this new international success, which further enhances our international activity. INTRASOFT International was selected through an official tender process by the government ofKenya among a great number of IT Solutions & Services companies inEurope, to implement such a large national project, which will help the Fund reorganize and restructure its Social Security services, to offer high-quality services to its stakeholders. We are additionally proud of this project, because it enhances our position in the vertical markets and enriches our strong experience in the implementation of large-scale Information Systems in the Business Domain of Social Insurance globally, by expanding our reach in the African continent.”

About the National Social Security Fund of Kenya (NSSF)
The National Social Security Fund of Kenya was established in 1965 in Nairobi, Kenya, by an Act of Parliament (CAP 258 of the Laws of Kenya), to administer a provident fund scheme for all workers in Kenya. Initially, the Fund operated as a government department under the Ministry of Labour, but as its membership grew and its operations became more complex, the NSSF Act was amended in 1987 to transform it into an autonomous Governmental Organization. Since 1988, the Fund has been operating under a Board of Trustees, which is constituted by representatives of 3 key stakeholders: the government, workers, and employers.
