FTSE/ATHEX Index Series

The FTSE/ATHEX Index Advisory Committee at its semi-annual meeting on Thursday, 23 October 2008 decided the following:

  • The semi-annual review of the composition of the FTSE/ATHEX Index Series

    • (See all changes in the file attached and the new composition of the Indices)
  • The creation of a new index FTSE/ATHEX Liquid Mid, following the close cooperation of the Athens Exchange with the FTSE International global index provider.

  • The creation of a new index FTSE/ATHEX-CSE Banking Index, following the close cooperation of the Athens Exchange with the FTSE International, and the Cyprus Stock Exchange.

  • Changes to the Ground Rules for the Management of the FTSE/ATHEX Index Series regarding the buffers for inclusion and deletion from the composition of the FTSE/ATHEX 20 Index and FTSE/ATHEX Mid 40 Index during review periods..

In detail, commencing from the April 2009 review:

  • non-constituents of FTSE/ATHEX 20 Index which have risen to position 15 or above (from 10) will be included in the index and existing constituents which have fallen to position 26 or below (from 31) will be removed from the Index.
  • non-constituents of FTSE/ATHEX Mid 40 Index which have risen to position 50 or above (from 40) will be included in the index and existing constituents which have fallen to position 71 or below (from 81) will be removed from the Index.
